As noted on Facebook, remember to tally up your points for each game and for each faction. For the league we’re tracking and scoring based on overall points – 1 point for generic kills, and 2 points for ace kills. We’ll provide updated “Confirmed Kill” sheets next week with clearer instructions.
Finally, we’ll be posting standings from the prior week in the store on Mondays. But as of right now, here are the current league leaders:
Week 1 DSMX Ace – Jeff Linacre Imperial Incinerator – Jefferson Hansen/Ryan Praska/John Siebens Rebel Ravager – Justin Brown Scum Slayer – Andrew Finke
For the next 6 weeks, your DSM X-wing crew will be a running an “Aces League” for local players. League players will play standard 100-point games over the course of the league, running the usual 75-minute rounds. However, the Aces League has two interesting wrinkles.
First, players only earn points by killing ships. Win or losing doesn’t matter. You’re going for kills. If an enemy ship dies during your game, you earn 1 point, even if they fly off the board or run over a rock, or explode via unfortunate crit. This includes weird R5-TK shenanigans. Named pilots are worth 2 points. So make sure you aim for death and glory!
Second, list-building has been modified as well. Each list must have a single named pilot worth 40 points or less. The rest of the list must be made of generic pilots selected from that week’s random ship per faction.
Each week, two ship types are selected from each faction. Players then build and fly lists that only include a single “Ace” of their choice, plus generic pilots from one (or both) of the selected ships for their faction. There’s no other restrictions and players are free build the generics as they choose, they just need to match at least one of that week’s chosen ships for their faction.
The selected generics for each week will be announced at the beginning of the league and reminders will be sent each Monday during announcements. Players can build lists and play up to 3 games each week earning kills against other league players with any list that follows the list-building guideline. You are not obligated to use the same list nor stick with a faction between games. You simply must earn points during gameplay against other league players.
All points, tracked via your “Aces League Confirmed Kill” sheet, must be turned in to the League TO by 5pm on Sunday to be counted for that week. Per the instructions on the kill sheet, you track the points earned per game, mark the date of the game, and then get initials from your opponent confirming that your total is accurate.
You may take a picture of your league tracking sheet and send it to the TO in lieu of handing in physical paper.
League Entry Fee – $10
Prizes will be based on total overall points, faction points, and of course the proper pacifist with the least amount of points.
Our schedule of generics can be found below:

We had a fantastic weekend at MuseOn Con 2018, with some stellar gameplay taking place Friday to Sunday. The Unsung Heroes Hangar Bay was an absolute blast and we want to congratulate our winners, John, Trent, and Adrian for their success. And of course, a hearty congratulations to Jose Perez for his first Hangar Bay experience 🙂
On Saturday we not only had the 3rd annual MuseOn Con Cup, we also ran our first White Whale Tournament. Congratulations to Dave Hintz for his victory during the cup and Jared Crumly for his victory during the White Whale.
Finally, Sunday morning saw the 4th Annual Fel’s Free-for-All turn into a marvelous two round, six ship bloodbath, with it coming down to Final Salvo between Trent Erickson and Jared Crumly, with Trent coming out on top.
The DSMX crew would like to thank Muse on Minis for hosting, as well as all the participants in the convention for coming out to make it an outstanding event 🙂 We hope to see even more make it out next year!
With that sad, we’re even more excited to launch the first DSMX Aces League! Tonight, come down to Mayhem Comics in Clive, Iowa for our kickoff event starting at 4:30pm.
