Good Afternoon Des Moines Area X-Wingers!
You know what day it is, it’s time to smash your favorite ships together, tonight at Mayhem in Des Moines! As usual, most attendees will be arriving a little after 6pm but some will be there as early as 5.
Over the weekend we had several DesMoines brethren that played in the Denver and Chicago Regionals! Your X-wing team would like to take a moment to give a shoutout to Justin Brown, Aamon Bond, and Kyle Doerhoff! Justin went 4-2 barely missing the cut, while Aamon and Kyle went 5-1 and 6-0 respectively and made it to the Top 8 at the Denver Regional. Kyle with his amazing trip T-70s was able to make it to the Top 4! Congrats boys and great flying! For the Chicago regional we had Jared Crumly, after being 30th on the waitlist got in and went a nice 3-3 against a large pool of 120 players!
Transitioning from regionals, which is wrapping up we will be continuing our Heroes of the Aturi Cluster Campaigns. This is a fan-made campaign that pits you against waves of tie fighters and completing pre-set objectives. If you’re interested please see Sean Esser! (Spoiler alert, its alot of fun and be warned the Empire is ruthless!!)
As a last note, The CAC (Campaign Against Cancer) event has started its pre-registering for this years event! This is a great event for newer players and veterans alike and the proceeds go to a great cause! Here is the link for all info on the event! http://twinsunscharities.org/
